DETAILED PROGRAM:

FRIDAY 17th JULY 2009
Arrival day and allocation of lodging at our base in Es Caná.

dalt_vila.jpgThe tour begins with a talk on Ibiza (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO), and its intriguing history, presented at the Greenheart Shop (location details), in the cetre of the town. We will also introduce the week's planned activities and excursions, plus explain the details of our holistic activities which are offered throughout your stay.

We will continue our route by checking out the picturesque Ibiza town, which boasts one of the best preserved medieval sites in the whole of Europe, with its stunning cathedral, quaint shops in cobbled streets and outstanding views from the heights of D'alt Villa.

There'll be free time afterwards to explore the town centre's unique shops, markets and shady cafés. Local recommended places to see are the Greenheart Shop and its neighbouring cafe, Out Of Time People. Both shops are a good source of books, clothes and fair-trade items, ecological information and an excellent choice of music CDs.

figueral_web.jpgIn the afternoon we shall make our way to the beaches at the Es Figueral area, where you can relax, swim and enjoy the pleasant sandy stretches of shore for walking. When it cools down in the late afternoon, there will be some holistic activities on the beach.

In the evening, back at base, there will be our welcome gathering with dinner and a presentation from Ibiza's ecology and sustainable living initiative, Greenheart, detailing their role on the island and what their various projects consist of. Everyone in our group will receive an info pack including Greenheart's Guide to Ibiza and Formentera, plus guidelines on low-carbon living and respect for the environment.

SATURDAY 18th JULY 2009
las_dalias.jpgWe will visit the funky hippy-hangout, market, restaurant and music venue, Las Dalias. The market has a superb selection of handmade clothes and jewellery, as well as many nooks and crannies to explore, where you can find something for everyone. There's also a café and market stalls selling food.

When we have gathered once more, we shall make our way to lovely beach of Cala Nova, where we can have a refreshing swim, and follow up with a relaxing session of yoga on the beach.

Once back at base and prepared for the evening, we'll get ready for a special night out,  where we discover the best in the island's musical culture... more details soon.

SUNDAY 19th JULY 2009
In the morning there will be optional well-being sessions (Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi or Chi Kung) on offer, or enjoy the free time to relax and do your own thing.

casita_verde.jpgThe group will gather at our campsite just before lunchtime to depart for a visit to the ecology and activities centre La Casita Verde, which offers:

In the afternoon, we'll head for the wonderful beach Cala Conta for swimming and enjoying the various lovely beaches and natural shoreline. There will be an optional trek over to Punta Sa Torre, with views to San Antonio in the distance.

drumming_compta.jpgFinally, you will be able to take part in an unforgettable drum circle workshop, run by the talented Sha, one of the most famous drummers in the island, in the exceptional settings of the beach with its broad views out to sea and plentiful skies. The rythmns that we'll drum out will enhance what is already a supreme spot for sunset!

MONDAY 20th JULY 2009
To start the day there will be optional Tai Chi or Chi Kung sessions on the beach.

After a relaxed breakfast and enjoyment of the campsite and neighbouring beach, we will make our way to San Antonio's best offering of coastal scenary, the area of Cala Gració. Here are some delightful sheltered sandy coves and intriguing rocky coastal trails with secluded inlets perfect for a cooling dip in the sea.

cap-nuno.jpgFor those keen on a hiking route, there will be a visit the nearby aquarium, and a walk along the craggy coastline to a perfectly located viewing spot affording views towards the northern lying hill top of Cap Nunó.

In the early evening we shall get together with members of Greenheart for an ecological benefit activity. This will be a fun beach clean where we spend around an hour litter picking and recycling to improve the local area. Thereafter, as a celebration of our effort, there'll be a nibble to eat with a picnic and a glass of vino or two!

As we continue with the warmth of the evening, there'll be time to check out the best locally in the way of café culture, and those energetic for a dance will find the the island in full flow!

TUESDAY 21st JULY 2009
In the morning there will be optional well-being sessions on offer, or enjoy the free time to relax and do your own thing.

cala-mastella_web.jpgThen we'll head for the beaches in the north-east of the island, including the lovely Cala Nova, Cala Llenya and Cala Mastella. From the beach, there will be a chance to try out Kayakking, a great way to explore the coastline and its hidden coves.

In the afternoon there will be a gentle hike around the coastal path, taking in on our way the pretty coves of Cala Pada, S'estanyol and Niu Blau.

We'll finish the day by visiting the quiet but fascinating town, Santa Eulalia, a colony of talented people, many of them famous worldwide. Its art galleries have the privilege of selling works by artists who exhibit their work for the largest cities on the planet. We'll also visit its lively bars and cafes in the port, enjoying this unique offering of Ibizan nightlife.
