Bookings are open! Reserve your place via our contact form NOW.

DETAILED PROGRAM:

THURSDAY 9th APRIL 2009
Arrival day in Ibiza and allocation of lodgings at our base.

The tour begins with a talk on Ibiza (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO), and its intriguing history, presented at the Greenheart Shop (see link for location details), in the centre of the town. We will also introduce the week's planned activities and excursions, plus explain the details of our holistic activities which are offered throughout your stay.

dalt_vila.jpgWe will continue our route by checking out the picturesque Ibiza town, which boasts one of the best preserved medieval sites in the whole of Europe, with its stunning cathedral, quaint shops in cobbled streets and outstanding views from the heights of D'alt Villa.

There'll be free time afterwards to explore the town centre's unique shops, markets and shady cafés. Local recommended places to see are the Greenheart Shop and its neighbouring cafe, Out Of Time People. Both shops are a good source of books, clothes and fair-trade items, ecological information and an excellent choice of music CDs.

campsite-beach-view.jpgAfter the city visit we shall make our way to the fantastic beach at Cala Nova, where where we will start our programme of holistic activities (pilates, yoga, tai chi and chi kung) by the sea. You will also have a chance to relax and have a refreshing swim from the sandy shores.

In the evening, back at base, there will be a welcome gathering with dinner and a presentation from Ibiza's ecology and sustainable living initiative, Greenheart, detailing their role on the island and what their various projects consist of. Everyone in our group will receive an info pack including Greenheart's Guide to Ibiza and Formentera, plus guidelines on low-carbon living and respect for the environment.

FRIDAY 10th APRIL 2009
A visit to the superb nature reserve, Las Salinas, where one can experience the calm, clear waters and beautiful white sand stretch of this unspoilt, scenic area.

salinas.jpgWe'll begin the day in one of the most beautiful hiking trails on the island around the Natural Reserve of Salinas. During this route, at the edge of towering cliffs, members of the team responsible for the national park will show us the local flora and fauna and will explain the status of this area - a World Heritage site - and what actions are taken for proper preservation. Along the way, we can also enjoy splendid views of the island of Formentera and its adjacent islets.

pilates_beach.jpgAfter the hike, we'll continue to enjoy the area and its splendid beaches and there will be the option of an uplifting holistic workshop of yoga.

To finish the day we will take in the sunset at a scenic viewing spot making the most of this magical moment.

SATURDAY 11th APRIL 2009
las_dalias.jpgWe will visit the funky hippy-hangout, market, restaurant and music venue in Las Dalias, just a 10min drive from base. The market has a superb selection of handmade clothes and jewellery, as well as many nooks and crannies to explore, where you can find something for everyone. There's also a café and market stalls selling food.

aguasblancas.jpgLater on we'll be exploring the lovely beaches of the north-east of the isle, with a trekking route along the coastline.

Once back at the campsite, there'll be an opportunity to take part in a relaxing workshop of massages, where you can learn a few techniques and receive a cranial-sachral head massage.

SUNDAY 12th APRIL
In the morning there will be optional well-being sessions (Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi or Chi Kung) on offer, or enjoy the free time to relax and do your own thing.

casitaverde2.jpgThe group will gather at our campsite just before lunchtime to depart for a visit to the ecology and activities centre, La Casita Verde (see link for info), where you can experience and enjoy:

drumming_compta.jpgIn the afternoon, there'll be an African Dance performance and afterwards we'll head for the wonderful beach Cala Conta for exploring and enjoying the various stunning beaches and natural shoreline. There will be an optional trek over to Punta Sa Torre, with top views of the coastline and well-positioned for sundown. Thereafter a percussion workshop will create a rhythmic atmosphere for enjoying this most special of sunsets by the sea.

MONDAY 13th APRIL 2009
atlantisview.jpgWe'll begin the day by heading for the outstanding area of Cala D'Hort in the south of the island. From here, we'll view the mysterious isle of Es Vedra by hiking to a panoramic viewing point, together with its intriguing watch tower, set high up on craggy cliffs with immense views of the surrounds.

There'll be time afterwards to explore the area, and for the more adventurous we'll trek down to the fascinating zone called Atlantis. On the way down we'll pass the "refuge of Buddha",  a mystic enclave that was the point of reunion for many young people during the hippy era, and it still remains (thankfully) well preserved and off the beaten track for mass tourism.

eco_cooking_course.jpgAfter the excursion we'll return to Casita Verde where there will be a chance to participate in a healthy cooking workshop. We'll end the tour with an open-air, candle-lit dinner and dance, where we'll enjoy all the delights from the cooking workshop, plus there'll be live music, Bhangra dance and many more special treats.
